MONROE 6, CATHOLIC PREP 0: Monroe’s Landen Wynn tossed his second career no-hitter Monday afternoon as the Hornets blanked IC Catholic Prep (Ill.) 6-0 at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. The Hornets also took on St. Francis on Monday.

EDGEWOOD 10, CARROLL 0: Roman Smith tossed a no-hitter and struck out six batters for the Cougars (2-0). Smith also hit a home run at the plate. Robert Eggebrecht, JJ Vogel and Brayden Smith had multi-hit performances in the five-inning affair.

HAMILTON 10, LAKOTA WEST 9: Big Blue first-year coach Josh Sams earned his first victory at the helm.

FAIRFIELD 13, MIDDLETOWN 2: Teagan Lucking had two hits, a walk and an RBI, while Noah Wagster had three RBI for Fairfield (1-1). Trenton Hampton struck out five to receive the win on the mound. Landon Bailey and Jamarkis Shillingsford had base hits for the Middies (0-1).

ROSS 6, CONNER (Ky.) 3: Ben Voegele went 3 for 3 with a home run, double, single, three runs and an RBI to lead the Rams (1-0). Griffin Mueller (RBI), Austin Parker (RBI, run), Nate Bray and Austin Farris each had hits for Ross. Kerry Snyder picked up the win in relief, tossing 3 1/3 innings and striking out five. Nolan Ertel got the start and struck out six for the Rams.

LEBANON 10, ST. XAVIER 8: Mitchell Hodges had four 1/3 innings of relief work on the mound and gave up just one hit for the Warriors. Peyton Livingston, Grant Keffaber Christian Feldkamp and Ben Williams each had multi-RBI games for Lebanon. Warriors first-year coach Keith Shilt received his first win at the helm.

FENWICK 21, MOUNT HEALTHY 0: Carrson Sova had 15 strikeouts for the Falcons (1-0).

LAKOTA EAST 10, OAK HILLS 0

WYOMING 11, FRANKLIN 8

Cincinnati Christian (1-0) defeated Cincinnati Trailblazers on Monday, giving first-year coach Birch his first win at the helm.

Softball

TALAWANDA 5, EDGEWOOD 3: Kaylee Griffin went 2 for 4 with three RBI and a run, Quinn Frieden went 2 for 4 with two runs, and the Brave beat the Cougars on Monday night. Talawanda (1-0) notched three runs in the first inning to grab the early momentum. Kylie Cobb pitched six innings, gave up four hits and picked up the win. Edgewood slipped to 0-1.

Boys Volleyball

BADIN 3, ALTER 0: The Rams beat the Knights in three straight sets 25-19, 25-9, 27-25. Put away by sophomore Carson Jungkinz wins it on the third match point for Badin (3-3, 2-1 GCL Coed) which rallies from a 10-point deficit in the third set. Junglunz is now fifth on Badin’s all-time boys volleyball list for kills on a career by surpassing the 350 mark.
