1 Cincinnati Christian baseball coach Tony Witt captured his first win at the Cougar helm on Saturday. Witt took over the program prior to the 2020 season, which was nitched due to the coronavirus. CCS knocked off Harrison 8-7 before falling to Indian Hill 6-3 on Saturday.

2 Lakota East junior Jack Villareal threw a no-hitter in the Thunderhawks’ 12-0 win over Stebbins on Saturday. Lakota East sophomore Carson French also tossed a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Stebbins to secure the double-header sweep.

3 Middletown softball coach Tyler Callahan captured his 100th career win on Saturday with the Middies’ 11-1 and 14-4 double-header sweep against Mount Healthy.

4 Edgewood’s softball team reeled off two wins over Hamilton on Saturday — 6-5 and 12-4 — in opening-day action. The Cougars get back to action on Tuesday at Centerville, while Hamilton hosts Talawanda on Monday.

5 Badin’s boys volleyball team went 3-0 on Saturday with home victories over Edgewood, West Clermont and Taylor. Rams senior Andrew Larkin passed the 1,000 career assist mark in the process.
