Returning Starters: Grady Combs, Junior, Shortstop; Landen Potter, Senior, 1st Base; Devin Lindsey, Junior, OF; Carter Young, Junior, C/P
Players to Watch: Grady Combs, second-team all-district, was a .400 hitter with multiple XBH in an injury-shortened season. Landen Potter had double-digit XBHs, hitting over .300. Carter Young and Conner Robertson both return with varsity experience on the mound.
“We’re an older team without a ton of experience,” Gross said. “We have a couple of guys who contributed in other sports that haven’t played the last few years that are looking to shake off the rust and help us out. (Kwenton Rhodus, Aiden Grooms, Zane Sproat). They are a fun-loving group who should be pretty solid defensively. We return some really good arms that contributed as underclassmen. We will have to learn on the job a little, but we have a chance to have a solid year.
“If you watch us play this season, you will find a team that really likes each other. They have really good vibes about them and play hard. There are a bunch of really competitive dudes in our clubhouse. We will look to do little things correctly and clean it up a little bit. They’re outgoing, passionate, fun-loving kids eager to have some success. We’ll look to play fast and be competitive in the box.”
