ROUNDUP: Fairfield’s Lawson gets 1,000th career assist

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield senior setter Leanna Lawson notched her 1,000th career assist on Thursday when the Indians knocked off Princeton 3-0 at Fairfield Arena. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Fairfield, which moved to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the Greater Miami Conference. The Indians (3-5) travel to Badin on Monday.

BADIN BOYS SOCCER OFF TO BEST START SINCE 2004

HAMILTON — The Badin boys soccer team is 9-0-1 and off to its best start since the 2004 season. Leading the way for the Rams is senior Brayden Eldridge, who has a Greater Catholic League Coed-best 25 goals and nine assists. Senior Nick Warner has seven goals and eight assists, while junior Rowan Brown has five goals and nine assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Cole Parr has logged eight shutouts and collected 30 saves. Badin hosts McNicholas on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Spooky Nook.

TALAWANDA BOYS GOLF WINS SWOC TITLE

OXFORD — The Talawanda boys golf team completed its undefeated Southwest Ohio Conference season by beating Harrison in a tight match 163-164 on Thursday at Miami Whitewater Golf Course. Leading the way for the Brave (9-0) on Thursday were Aidan Bruder (40), Ty Huber (40), Connor Schulte (41), Brady Schutte (42) and Jack Peters (47). Talawanda takes on Monroe at Hueston Woods on Monday.

TALAWANDA GIRLS VOLLEYBALL IS 10-1

OXFORD — The Talawanda girls volleyball team is off to its best start since the 2015 season when the Brave went 21-2. Leading the way for Talawanda are senior Myah Keene (93 kills, 113 digs, 321 passes), sophomore Callie McCullough (91 kills, 26 blocks, 29 aces), sophomore Elise Olenick (83 digs), senior Zoe Smith (29 aces), sophomore Abby Noga (230 assists) and senior Leah Noga (88 assists).

CCS BOYS SOCCER 3-0 IN MVC PLAY

FAIRFIELD TWP. — The Cincinnati Christian boys soccer team has won three out of its last four games and is undefeated in Miami Valley Conference play. The Cougars (5-4, 3-0 MVC) are led by senior Matias Davalos, who has a conference-best 13 goals. CCS sophomore goalkeeper Gavin King has 2.5 shutouts.

BADIN’S BOYLE UNDEFEATED IN GIRLS TENNIS

HAMILTON — Badin junior Caroline Boyle is 9-0 in girls tennis first singles action this season. The Rams are nursing a two-game winning streak and sit at 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the Greater Catholic League Coed. Senior Emmy Demmel is 8-1 in second singles for Badin, which gets back to action on Monday at McNicholas.

FENWICK BOYS SOCCER UNDEFEATED

FRANKLIN — The Fenwick boys soccer team is 3-0-4 and is led by junior Carson Cooper (10 goals) and senior goalkeeper Bruce Bray (22 saves).

CCS GIRLS VOLLEYBALL ON 5-GAME WINNING STREAK

FAIRFIELD TWP. — The Cincinnati Christian girls volleyball team is off to its best start since the 2013 season and owns a five-game winnings streak. The Cougars (9-2) are led by senior Jenny Bertram (124 assists, 37 aces), senior Katie Bertram (98 digs), junior Lauren Uffman (91 digs, 36 aces) and sophomore Serena Cyprien (20 blocks). CCS returns to action on Tuesday at CHCA.

FENWICK GIRLS GOLF 11-2 THIS SEASON

FRANKLIN — The Fenwick girls golf team is 11-2 and led by junior Sophie Rush (42.3 average), junior Avery Roethlisberger (46.42) and sophomore Emma Lohman (46.57).
