ROUNDUP: Area girls volleyball squads advance in postseason

LAKOTA EAST VOLLEYBALL

FAIRFIELD 3, WESTERN HILLS 0

Sophomore Kennedy Ostendorf logged her 1,000th career assist, and the Indians rolled to a 25-18, 25-18, 25-12 Division I sectional win on Wednesday.

No. 18 Fairfield (14-10) has won six out of its last seven and faces No. 1 Kings on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Lakota West.

LAKOTA EAST 3, WEST CLERMONT 0

The Thunderhawks won 25-23, 25-16, 26-22 over the Wolves in a Division I sectional contest on Wednesday.

No. 15 Lakota East (14-9), which has won four out of its last five, will face No. 14 Milford on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Lakota East. 

FENWICK 3, DUNBAR 0

The Falcons blanked Dunbar in the first set on their way to a 25-0, 25-2, 25-5 Division II sectional victory on Wednesday.

No. 1 Fenwick (17-6) faces No. 11 Stivers on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lebanon. The Falcons are on a four-game winning streak. 

KINGS 3, HAMILTON 0

The Big Blue finished their best season since 2012 at 13-11. Hamilton graduates seniors Maci Pennington, Hannah New and Kaylen Rose.

The Big Blue began the season 7-1 and were led by Pennington, who had a Greater Miami Conference-best 73 aces heading into Wednesday’s tournament game.

BADIN 3, THURGOOD MARSHALL 0 

The Rams held the Cougars scoreless in the first set and cruised to a 25-0, 25-11, 25-8 Division II sectional win on Wednesday.

Badin (16-7) faces Oakwood on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Lebanon. The Rams have won three in a row and six out of their last seven.

MILFORD 3, ROSS 1

The Rams had their season end on Wednesday. Ross finished 12-10 and graduates seniors Sienna Rice, Hannah Rumpler, Lauren Rack, Whitley Metz, Ava O’Connell and Maddie Sackenheim.

CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 3, LEGACY CHRISTIAN 0

The Cougars (17-7) have won five in a row and seven out of their last eight with a Division IV sectional victory on Wednesday. 

No. 1 Cincinnati Christian takes on No. 4 Ripley next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at MVCA.

RIPLEY 3, NEW MIAMI 0

The Vikings fell 25-9, 25-14, 25-12, ending their season at 11-8. New Miami was the defending Miami Valley Conference Gray Division co-champions.

The Vikings graduate seniors Maciah Brashear, Evalyn Davidson and Ashley Totten.

LEBANON 3, SPRINGFIELD 0

The Warriors swept the Wildcats 25-6, 25-12,25-7 for a Division I sectional victory on Wednesday.

Lebanon (17-6) has won three in a row and will face Miamisburg on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Centerville.

OAKWOOD 3, CARLISLE 0

The Indians fell 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 on Wednesday, ending their season at 8-14. Carlisle graduates seniors Sam Lambert and Alaina Eldridge.
