Monroe Hornets
Casey Popplewell is in his first season back at the Hornet helm. He was head coach previously from 2010 to 2015.
Monroe went 10-14 overall and 5-8 in the Southwestern Buckeye League a season ago.
Monroe has no returning starters.
“We hope to get better everyday,” Popplewell said. “Right now, we are, but it’s a long season. We hope to continue to do that for the next four months. We are inexperienced at the varsity level, but we are talented enough to compete night in and night out.”
The expectations, according to Popplewell, are for the Hornets to “get better every day.”
