2023-2024 Season Snapshot
Lakota West Firebirds
The legendary Andy Fishman is returning for his 26th season at the Lakota West girls basketball helm. He has a 468-151 record, following the Firebirds’ 53-30 win over Western Heights (Australia) on Sunday.
Lakota West is coming off a 12-11 season (9-7 GMC third place).
Players to watch include Katie Fox, Caroline Bayliff, Lily Johnson, Madison Parker and Kelsey Rolling. Johnson, Fox and Bayliff are returning starters.
Fox earned GMC first team honors last season a freshman averaging 14 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4 assists and 1.7 steals a game. Bayliff received second team all-conference honors with 9.4 points and 4 assists a game.
Fishman said he’s liked the offseason work ethic and camaraderie displayed from his program heading into the season.
“We expect to get better as the season progresses, and our goals include competing for championships,” Fishman noted.
