Cincinnati Christian Cougars
Derrick Byndon enters his third season as head coach of the Cincinnati Christian Schools girls basketball coach.
Returning from last year’s squad that went 10-13 include sophomore guard Anna Bowling, sophomore guard Serena Cyprien, sophomore forward Kaylin Davis and sophomore forward Savannah Johnson.
“We will bring a lot of energy and youthful exuberance,” Byndon said. ”Although we are still a very young team, we have added some skilled players that should help us surpass last year’s record. And with four out of our five starters from last year returning, I expect us to beat a few teams that we lost to last year. I’m very excited for the season.”
Four players scored in double digits in the Cougars’ 63-48 season-opening win over Belmont on Friday.
Davis had a team-high 18 points, while Johnson (16), Cyprien (11) and Addison Raby (10) also contributed offensively for CCS (1-0).
