Toddler Soccer Star Too Good for His League? Florida Family Says Police Were Called and Their 3-Year-Old Was Sent Home Because No One Could Take the Ball From Him
FLORIDA — A Florida family says their 3-year-old son was escorted off a youth soccer field by police and removed from his league, all because he kept outplaying older kids who could not get the ball away from him.
The boy, Nevada, is shown in videos posted by his parents on TikTok weaving past defenders and scoring goals, while his dad cheers loudly from the sideline.
A Preschooler Playing Against 5-Year-Olds
According to the family, Nevada was competing against children around 5 years old, two years older than him. In the footage, several kids repeatedly try and fail to steal the ball as he dribbles toward the goal.
His parents say that week after week, no one on the other teams could take the ball from him, and that is what caused the trouble.
Police called on 3 year old Black boy—for being “too good” at soccer.
Officers escorted his family away in front of all the other kids.
After league had them tresspassed from the field.
“They really called the police on a 3 year old because he had the ball too much,” dad said.
The young athlete was already playing in a league with kids 2 years older than him.
Other parents on the opposing team are heard on video claiming the kid was “trying to put on a show.”
His mom replied, “Those grown ups huddled up talking about my son… but he ain’t doing nothing but playing soccer.”
Incident occurred at an i9 Sports league soccer game in Winter Park, Florida.

Officers Show Up at the Field
The videos then shift to police officers talking with the family at the field. Nevada’s father can be heard saying that other parents called police on a 3-year-old because he was “too good,” explaining they were upset he held onto the ball too long.
In another clip, an officer tells the family that “they” want them to head out. Later, an officer says the league office will reach out and that the family will receive a refund.
The Family’s Side of the Story
Nevada’s mother said she could not understand why other parents were angry with her toddler. She said her family did not even stand with the other families and had never argued with them.
She claimed she saw adults huddled together talking about her son that day, and the family said a meeting was held about a 3-year-old before they were asked to leave.
In one caption, the family joked that Nevada was escorted out for being “the best 3 year old in the world today,” adding a Bible verse, Psalm 91:7. In another, they said the league kicked him out after parents on the other team felt it was not fair.
What Remains Unclear
Several key questions have not been answered:
- Whether the league has its own account of what happened
- Who exactly called police and what they reported
- Whether the family plans to take legal action
The family’s claims have not been independently confirmed.
Why Viewers Are Furious
Reaction online has been overwhelmingly on the family’s side. Many viewers, noting that Nevada is Black, said they believed racism played a role, with one calling it “blatant racial discrimination.”
Others blasted the idea of calling police over a toddler’s soccer skills, arguing that if parents wanted him to pass more, they could have simply asked politely. Some praised the practice and work Nevada and his dad clearly put in, while several commenters worried about how an experience like this could affect a child so young.
