Area high school squads kicked off the 2019 fall seasons:
Monday, Aug. 12
Talawanda golfer Charlie Faler was medalist in the Brave’s win over Hamilton. He shot a 2-under 34 at Indian Ridge.
The Middletown girls tennis team defeated Fenwick 4-1. The Middies moved to 2-0 on the season.
Saturday, Aug. 10
The Ross girls tennis team fell to Western Brown 3-2, slipping the Rams to 0-2 on the season.
Friday, Aug. 9
The Middletown girls tennis team defeated Northridge 5-0. Arianna Layne won at first singles, Hannah Wilson won at second singles, and Selin Misirioglu won at third singles. Katie Pearson and Paige Patterson won at first doubles, while Mary Fletcher and Naomi Dorn won at second doubles. The win moved the Middies to 1-0 on the season
The Ross girls tennis team fell to Wilmington 4-1.
Thursday, Aug. 8
The Lakota East girls golf team took home first place at the NDA Invitational.
The Ross High boys golf team defeated Badin 167-171 at Potters Park Golf Course.
Wednesday, Aug. 7
The Talawanda girls golf team split with Fenwick (188) and West Clermont (262) by scoring 210. With the split, the Brave moved to 2-1 on the season. Talawanda shaved 13 strokes off of its score from Monday. Brave junior Alysse Aylor (46) captured medalist.
The Lakota East boys golf silver team captured the Dayton Christian Invitational.
The Fairfield boys golf team fired 306 to capture a victory over Lakota West, Oak Hills and Colerain at Walden Ponds, and Jared Hinkle was medalist with a 1-over round of 73.
Tuesday, Aug. 6
The Fairfield boys golf team captured eighth place in the Anderson Invitational. Chandler Kellum and Logan Murphy both shot an 80 to lead the way.
The Badin girls golf team started the season with a win 187-189 over McNicholas.
The Badin boys golf team finished sixth out 16 teams in the Keystone Grey Hawk Invitational in Cleveland.
The Lakota East girls golf team came out victorious in the Sycamore Invitational today by shooting 310.
Monday, Aug. 5
The Talawanda girls golf team opened up the season with a 223-245 home victory over Little Miami. Jada Tegge earned medalist with a 46.
The Edgewood boys golf team placed fourth at preseason Southwest Ohio Conference invite.
The Fairfield boys golf team shot a 321 at the Lakota East Invitational to finish 10th of 18 in a very strong field. Mason Hamilton led the way with a 75 for the Indians.
