NEW MIAMI — The New Miami High School boys basketball team will look to rely heavily on its returning starters from last year’s squad.
The Vikings went 1-22 overall and 0-12 in the Miami Valley Conference, but New Miami coach Jared Lee expects them to rebound from that.
The three returning players who will play key roles for the Vikings are senior point guard Emryk Moffitt (8.6 PPG, 4 RPG, 3 APG), senior forward Daymeon Pennington (4 PPG, 4 RPG) and junior forward Mason Stephens.
“We are very excited to see the seniors and sophomores without a lot of varsity experience to this point step up as their role increases,” Lee said.
Lee also said to look out for senior Bo McGraw, and sophomores Jason Wyatt, Dalson Hayes and Cirilo Lakes to “step up and grow throughout the season.”
Rounding out the roster is senior guard Josh Woods, senior forward Cameron Foister, junior guard Ondra Stewart and sophomore forward Dalton Gentry.
“We open the year with an exciting match up at the Hoosier Gym and can’t wait to compete,” Lee said.
New Miami takes on Ripley tonight in Indiana at 7:30 p.m.
