FAIRFIELD TWP. — Cincinnati Christian boys basketball coach Carl Woods has things under control heading into his sixth season at the helm.

The Cougars are on a mission to win the Miami Valley Conference Gray Division title for a fifth consecutive season.

Woods, who has accumulated a 83-42 record at Cincinnati Christian, was chosen to coach in the 2018 North South All-Star game.

The Cougars, who finished 14-9 overall and 11-5 in the conference a season ago, will return to Division IV basketball after a year of being in Division III.

Cincinnati Christian has depth on the bench — returning nine players that have varsity experience, including three starters in senior forward Riley Reutener, senior guard Miguel Ringer and junior forward Cameron Rogers. They all received second team All-MVC awards last season.

Ruetener averaged 9 points and Rogers averaged 8.5 points a game last season.

Woods and company also have added sophomores KJ Swain and Devin McKinnon, as well as freshman Logan Woods.

Rounding out the rest of the roster is junior guard Winston Spencer, senior guard Cole Martin, sophomore forward Cody Anderson, sophomore guard Bryson Teague, senior forward Jalon Percy, sophomore guard Alex Bertram and junior forward Tyler Harmon.

The roster took a blow losing their leading scorer Johnny Nimmo to graduation, but their depth this season can provide an immediate threat in not only in the MVC Gray but in all of Division III.

The Cougars kick off the season against Badin at home on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
