Notable Statistics — Joe Kirby (18 hits, 11 runs, 11 SB), Braylon Bailey (15 hits, 16 runs) and Lucas Dingledine (10 hits, .323) had stellar performances on the offensive side of things last season.
Coach’s Comments — “This year’s team is an inexperienced group that only returns a handful of everyday starters from last season. This year’s team should be a competitive group with our pitching and defense. We return two starting pitchers that gave us a lot of innings last season, RJ Anderson and Joe Kirby, along with newcomer Isaac Stamper. … Offensively, we will need to find out who we are. We return four bats from last season. Most of our lineup will be first-year varsity guys this season. We will be competitive in the box and look to manufacture runs. Lucas Dingledine, Joe Kirby, Braylon Bailey and Brock Sorrell are our returning offensive starters. … Our attention to detail defensively. Our kids want to be good defensively, and they want to make sure they play well behind our pitchers. The depth of arms we have this year has also stood out in the preseason. … Pitching and defense, in addition to manufacturing runs.”
