“We will be good defensively, and we will have to scratch and claw our ways to runs,” Beck said. “We will pitch by committee, with Landen Wynn leading us on the mound. … We will compete every pitch and play fundamental baseball, defense will be our strength.
“We are bringing back several starters from last year’s team,” Beck added. “We have to find a way to manufacture runs as we lost a lot of our offensive firepower last year.”
