BADIN
The Rams are coming off a 10-5-3 overall record in 2022. Badin has won or at least grabbed a share of the Greater Catholic League Coed title the last two seasons.
Senior Ava Hess, senior Emma Rhodis, junior Macey Blanton, junior Gracie Cosgrove and sophomore Braelyn Even are players to keep an eye on for the Rams.
CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN
The Cougars went 3-6 in 2022. Senior Reese Green (F/M), junior Brooklyn Porter (D/M), junior Naomi Updegrove (M/F), sophomore Addison Rhames (D/M), sophomore Heavyn Barber (D/F) and sophomore Kaylin Davis (D/M) are players to watch for CCS.
EDGEWOOD
The Cougars graduated eight seniors from last year’s squad that went 3-13-1. Senor Rylie Homan, senior Peyton Steiniger and junior Kasey Kelhoffer are players to watch for Edgewood.
“This is a group that has been playing behind a large group of seniors,” fifth-year coach Rick Watson said. “It is going to be exciting to see them take the reins and make a name for themselves in the program.”
FAIRFIELD
The Indians went 7-9-1 in 2022 and is loaded with juniors and seniors in 2023. Players to watch for Fairfield are senior Olivia Stroud, senior Mya Love, senior Kyra Posey, junior Alayna Townsend and sophomore Leaha Compton.
HAMILTON
The Big Blue are looking to bounce back from a 1-17 season a year ago. Players to watch for Hamilton are senior Greivy Tome (M), senior Sofia Rivers (GK), junior Hannah Thompson (F), sophomore Reese Thieken (M) and sophomore Alexis Overbey (D/M).
LAKOTA EAST
The Thunderhawks went 10-7-1 overall and finished atop the Greater Miami Conference standings tied with Oak Hills (7-1-1) a season ago. Tom McEwan enters his 10th season as head coach.
Players to watch for Lakota East are senior Sidney Zawila, senior Josie Bencic, junior Haylie Yeazell, junior Sloan Schneider and sophomore Alaina French.
LAKOTA WEST
The Firebirds were 7-8-2 a season ago. Players to keep an eye on include senior defender and Northern Kentucky University commit Natalie Krummen, as well as senior midfielder and Eastern Kentucky commit Nicki Klosterman.
“The senior leadership and how well our younger talent has meshed with experienced and veteran players is going to be key,” eighth-year Lakota West coach Brigit Wilder said.
Wilder said the sophomore class has some impressive talent and is worth mentioning the whole class at this point as individuals are still separating themselves from the rest of the pack.
MIDDLETOWN
The Middies graduated 14 seniors from a squad that went 6-11 in 2022. Players to watch for Middletown are senior Lilly Becraft, senior Roni Robinson and senior Maleigha Wright.
MADISON
The Mohawks had a stellar season in 2022, finishing 12-3-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the Southwestern Buckeye League West Division.
“Although we are a young squad, we have quite a bit of experience,” said Madison coach David Gomia, who returns to lead the program after coaching the Mohawks from 2000 to 2003.
Senior Emily Friend (GK), junior Maddy James (M), sophomore Kimber Prince (F) sophomore Riley Johnson (D) and freshman Kinsley Walker (D) are players to watch for Madison.
MONROE
The Hornets had a 13-4-2 season in 2022. Players to keep an eye on for Monroe include Sarah Deaton, Mikayla Tolbert, Payton Allen, Arabela Martinez, Addy Bevak and Willa Larbes.
“We have always been known as being a fast and dangerous team,” 11th-year coach Stacey Williams said. “We love to take chances in our offensive of the field, and we are solid in the back. We take advantage of every opportunity and compete to the very end.”
ROSS
The Rams rolled through Southwest Ohio Conference play with an 8-0 record and went a stellar 16-1-2 overall a season ago. They’re making the switch over to the SWBL in 2023. Players to keep an eye on for Ross are senior Kaitlyn Lampe (D/M), senior Maddie Davis (D), junior Caroline Chernock (F/M) and junior Olivia Gillum (M/F).
TALAWANDA
The Brave finished 6-9-1 a season ago and return a young squad after graduating 10 seniors. Talawanda coach Kelsey Sams is in her first season at the helm.
Players to watch for the Brave include senior Kate Young (GK), senior Addi Thacker (F) and junior Kelsi Carver (F).
