Middletown Middies
Bill Edwards Jr. is in his first year at the Middletown boys basketball helm.
The Middies finished 12-11 overall and 7-9 in the Greater Miami Conference a season ago. Middletown lost to Elder 54-36 in the first round of the tournament.
Returning starters are junior guard Jeremiah Landers, junior guard/forward Chandler Shields and junior guard Michael Maldonado.
“Our team will bring toughness and intensity to the defensive end of the floor,” Edwards said. “This year our expectations are to just win the day, every day. We compete in one of the best conferences in the state. We play some really good teams this year that should prepare us for postseason play. Our goal is to be playing our best basketball in February.
“We have a lot of new faces looking to step up and play key roles in our success this year.”
